Job Title: Marine Services Crew
Location: Hawes Pier, Port Edgar, Hound Point Marine Terminal
Hours: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off - up to 60 hours per week.
Compensation: £36,636 + paid overtime

Targe Towing Limited is a subsidiary of the Forth Ports Group and is responsible for providing marine services for the INEOS Forties Pipeline System (FPS) at Hound Point Marine Terminal.
About The Role
In this role as Marine Services Crew, you will play a vital part in supporting safe and efficient marine operations at Hound Point Marine Terminal. You will be responsible for assisting with the mooring and unmooring of tankers, operating crew transfer and workboats, and ensuring all duties are carried out to the highest professional, safety, and environmental standards. Working closely with the Marine Supervisor and supported by a deckhand, you will ensure vessels, equipment, and facilities remain safe, compliant, and operationally ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate crew transfer vessels (CTV) and workboats safely, in line with company procedures and safety management systems
- Assist with tanker mooring/unmooring operations, including handling mooring lines, running messengers, and managing HP Terminal moorings
- Act as Safety Boat when required, including transferring personnel, equipment, and waste between vessels and the terminal
- Maintain accurate records, including workboat logbooks, timesheets, and defect logs
- Supervise and support the deckhand in day-to-day duties
- Conduct regular inspections of vessels, machinery, and safety equipment, reporting and recording any defects or deficiencies
- Ensure vessels are kept to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness
- Carry out maintenance, servicing, and general husbandry on vessels, pier areas, and associated facilities as directed
- Participate fully in toolbox talks, drills, safety meetings, and training activities
- Monitor and ensure safe access for personnel transiting Hawes Pier and Hound Point Terminal
- Support emergency call-outs and work reasonable overtime as required by management
- Comply with all company and client health, safety, and environmental standards
What We're Looking For
We are seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals with a strong interest in the marine sector and a commitment to professionalism. You will be flexible in your approach to working hours, including shift work and call-outs, and able to adapt to a varied workload across vessel operations, maintenance, and pier support. Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and the ability to uphold seamanship and safety standards are essential. Previous marine or small vessel experience is desirable, but a willingness to learn, develop, and contribute positively to the team is equally important.
Qualifications And Skills
- RYA Advanced, commercially endorsed Power Boat level 2 or Sea Fish Industry Authority under 16.5m as a minimum
- Must have experience of working in an industrialised environment
- Experience working on Crew Transfer Vessels and line handling vessels would be advantageous
- Full driving licence, valid in the UK
- Full right to work in the UK
