About The Role We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support our Group Tax team in ensuring full compliance with the UK’s tax obligations across Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE/NI, SDLT, and other relevant areas. This is a great opportunity to develop your tax career in a dynamic and supportive environment, based from our Head Office in Leith. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing Corporation Tax returns, disclosures for statutory accounts, and tax forecasts. Support monthly VAT return reviews, consolidations, and customs-related VAT processes. Contribute to PAYE compliance, including PSA submissions, termination payments, and IR35 assessments. Provide day-to-day tax support across the business, responding to queries and liaising with finance teams, auditors, and HMRC. Help drive automation and efficiency improvements in tax compliance processes. Stay current with changes in tax legislation to support accurate reporting. Travel around the group to port assets will be required on occasions. You’ll work closely with our Group Tax Assistant Manager and Group Projects & Tax Manager, playing a vital role in maintaining our reputation for financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. We\’re seeking an experienced Tax professional —whether from practice or industry—who is eager to grow their career in a varied and hands-on tax role, offering broad exposure across multiple areas of Taxation. Skills & Experience Required Tax qualified to ATT level or with equivalent experience in a tax-focused role Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy Proactive and self-motivated, with a practical, problem-solving mind-set Strong communicator with a collaborative and positive approach to teamwork Able to manage and prioritise a varied workload in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines effectively Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and charts), as well as Word, Teams, and Outlook Full UK working rights & driving licence are essential What Forth Ports Can Offer You At Forth Ports, our people are our priority, and we are committed to creating a flexible, open, and supportive working culture.
