Location: Port of Grangemouth

Compensation: Salary – £29,909 + Shift allowance – £7,628

Hours: 1900-0700 Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 33 hours per week.

About The Role

We are seeking to strengthen our skilled Port Operations team by recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Port Operator to work a constant weekend night shift pattern.

After your initial training period which will involve working Monday to Friday day shift (approximately 4 weeks), you will work 3 x 12 hour night shifts, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 33 hours per week.

Plant driving is a major part of the role, and you will be trained to drive port plant equipment including straddle carriers, forklifts and tugs.

Our working environment comprises warehouses, quaysides or the hold of ships. Your main duties will be loading and discharging ships and a range of other tasks associated with cargo handling, warehousing and distribution.

Qualifications

  • Some plant driving experience and a valid forklift truck licence.
  • Good numeracy and basic IT skills.
  • Previous shift working experience preferred.
  • Available to work regular overtime.
  • A full driving licence, valid in the UK, and meet Group 2 driver medical fitness standards.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Required Criteria

  • Must have experience driving heavy plant machinery or HGV class 1/2.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence.
