Responsibilities:
- The Pensions & Insurance Advisor plays an essential supporting role, assisting the Head of Risk and Pensions with a broad range of responsibilities.
- This role involves the day-to-day administration of the pension scheme, ensuring that all processes are completed efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations.
- A key part of this role involves managing trustee meetings, coordinating communications, and serving as a primary point of contact for scheme advisors.
Pensions:
- Support the Head of Risk & Pensions in delivering departmental objectives and projects.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of the DC Pension Scheme, ensuring accurate records, timely transactions, and effective handling of member queries.
- Supervise and support the Pensions Administration team, ensuring high standards and coverage for holidays and absences.
- Coordinate Trustee meetings, including agendas, papers, logistics, minute-taking, and action tracking.
- Liaise with scheme advisers, auditors, and internal teams (HR, Payroll) to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth scheme operation.
- Assist with scheme audits, IAS19 data collation, annual accounts, and regulatory reporting.
- Manage processes related to ill-health retirements, death-in-service benefits, and Group Life insurance administration.
- Support member communications, including the annual Trustee newsletter and pensions education workshops.
- Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and systems and contribute to ad-hoc projects.
Insurance:
- Manage and oversee insurance claims across the Group, including employee accidents and company vehicle or asset claims.
- Lead the annual insurance renewal process and gather required data across Group policies.
- Liaise with brokers, attend quarterly claims meetings, and represent the team at Health & Safety meetings.
- Analyse claims trends and provide reports to support decision-making.
- Respond to internal insurance queries and provide guidance to employees and departments.
Skills And Experience Required:
- Previous experience in pensions administration, ideally in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, scheme advisors, and external partners.
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and adept at problem-solving.
- Good working knowledge of relevant pensions legislation and best practice.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
