Location: Forth Ports Ltd, Carron House, Dock Road, Grangemouth

Hours: 35 hours – Monday to Friday

Compensation: Up to £45,000

Responsibilities:

  • The Pensions & Insurance Advisor plays an essential supporting role, assisting the Head of Risk and Pensions with a broad range of responsibilities.
  • This role involves the day-to-day administration of the pension scheme, ensuring that all processes are completed efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • A key part of this role involves managing trustee meetings, coordinating communications, and serving as a primary point of contact for scheme advisors.

Pensions:

  • Support the Head of Risk & Pensions in delivering departmental objectives and projects.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of the DC Pension Scheme, ensuring accurate records, timely transactions, and effective handling of member queries.
  • Supervise and support the Pensions Administration team, ensuring high standards and coverage for holidays and absences.
  • Coordinate Trustee meetings, including agendas, papers, logistics, minute-taking, and action tracking.
  • Liaise with scheme advisers, auditors, and internal teams (HR, Payroll) to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth scheme operation.
  • Assist with scheme audits, IAS19 data collation, annual accounts, and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage processes related to ill-health retirements, death-in-service benefits, and Group Life insurance administration.
  • Support member communications, including the annual Trustee newsletter and pensions education workshops.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and systems and contribute to ad-hoc projects.

Insurance:

  • Manage and oversee insurance claims across the Group, including employee accidents and company vehicle or asset claims.
  • Lead the annual insurance renewal process and gather required data across Group policies.
  • Liaise with brokers, attend quarterly claims meetings, and represent the team at Health & Safety meetings.
  • Analyse claims trends and provide reports to support decision-making.
  • Respond to internal insurance queries and provide guidance to employees and departments.

Skills And Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in pensions administration, ideally in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, scheme advisors, and external partners.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and adept at problem-solving.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant pensions legislation and best practice.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
