About the Role: As Marine Compliance Officer you will oversee monitoring, assurance, and continuous improvement of marine compliance activities across Forth Ports, ensuring safe, efficient, and regulatory compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support monitoring of marine compliance activities across the port and marine environment.
- Assist with maintaining compliance against relevant legislation, Port & Marine Facilities Safety Code, local Acts, Byelaws, General Directions, and internal procedures.
- Prepare, maintain, and review compliance records, registers, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and assurance activities, ensuring evidence is available and actions are tracked to completion.
- Assist with incident, non-conformance, and corrective action follow-up, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Engage with internal departments, port users, contractors, and external stakeholders to promote consistent compliance standards.
- Support the preparation of compliance reports, briefings, and management information for the Marine Department.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of marine procedures, risk controls, and assurance processes.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Knowledge of marine compliance, port operations, safety management, or a related regulatory environment.
- Understanding of the Port & Marine Facilities Safety Code, local port regulations, Byelaws, and General Directions.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, document control, assurance activities, or compliance reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and follow actions to completion.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills, proactive in supporting safe, compliant operations.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, comfortable preparing written reports, briefings, and compliance documentation.
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Full driving licence, valid in the UK.
