About The Role
We’re offering individuals the opportunity to develop their skills and progress their careers through our Apprentice Office Administrator apprenticeship. Over two years, you’ll gain practical experience, build specialist knowledge, and work towards a recognised qualification, Business Administration at SCQF Level 6. We will hold our assessment day for this role at the Port of Dundee, where you will have the chance to meet some of the team and to find out more about the role and the apprenticeship. We will be in touch before then to let you know if you have been selected to attend.
What You Will Learn
Our Apprentice Office Administrator will work towards an SCQF Level 6 qualification in Business Administration while supporting the Port of Dundee with the day‑to‑day running of the port. Throughout the apprenticeship, they will learn how to motivate co‑workers in a business setting, follow best safety practices, improve their business acumen, and build lasting client relationships. The role will help develop core transferable skills including numeracy, teamwork, time management, communication, and problem‑solving, providing a strong foundation for future progression within administrative and supervisory roles.

What are we looking for?
- A minimum of three National 5 qualifications including Nat 5 Maths, Nat 5 English
- You will have a head start if you have already completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Good organisational skills
- A proactive and customer‑focused approach
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Full UK working rights
- UK driving licence preferred
