Overview

Fortescue operates at genuine global scale, and the platforms that power our communications need to match it. This role exists to keep them moving, delivering features, managing integrations, guiding developers, and ensuring our marketing and communications technology ecosystem performs as a coherent, high-functioning whole.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll be on the tools. Directly inside Sitecore, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, our DAM, eDM platform, CMP (OneTrust), and the integrations that connect them.
  • You’ll understand the architecture deeply enough to get your hands in it, diagnose problems before they escalate, and make confident technical calls with the information in front of you.
  • You’ll deliver against the marketing and communications technology strategy, translating roadmap priorities into shipped features, scoping work against digital and business objectives, and making architectural decisions that are extensible, interoperable, and built to stand the test of time.
  • You think ahead, anticipating where the ecosystem needs to go. You balance engineering constraints, technical trade-offs, and stakeholder demands simultaneously, making decisive decisions that keep delivery moving.
  • You’ll command the DevOps delivery chain, briefing and directing front-end and back-end developers with precision, sharpening business requirements before work begins, and running QA and UAT to validate every release.
  • You set direction clearly, hold the standard, and proactively address technical debt before it compounds.
  • You’ll communicate with confidence across the business, translating technical complexity into clear, assured updates that give stakeholders what they need to move forward.
  • You know what information matters and what doesn’t, and you present it accordingly.
  • You’ll thrive in a fluid DevOps environment where priorities shift, timelines compress, and scope evolves.
  • You hold multiple demanding workstreams in parallel, make decisive calls with the information available, and default to the simplest path that delivers the outcome.
  • You ship good work, learn fast, and iterate continuously, building momentum rather than waiting for perfection.

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience managing digital products in complex enterprise environments is a must.
  • You’re deeply fluent in CMS architecture, data flows, API integrations, and the logic that ties a marketing and comms technology stack together.
  • You’ve written detailed technical requirements, managed product backlogs, and run QA cycles that actually catch things.
  • You know what good looks like in a modern headless environment, and you push for it.
  • You’re decisive and solutions-focused, with a track record of shipping work on time that performs as designed, and improving it from there.
  • You communicate with equal confidence in a developer brief and a senior stakeholder update, without conflating the two.
  • You coach rather than just direct, and you bring people along without slowing down.
  • You’re deeply comfortable with Sitecore, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (including Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud Engagement), DAM platforms, OneTrust, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
  • You understand how these tools connect, where the integration risks live, and what it takes to keep them operating as a coherent ecosystem.
