About The Role
To facilitate the development and delivery of embedded control system solutions within motorsport and advanced engineering solutions. To provide and develop dynamic system simulation capabilities within the Motorsports and Advanced Engineering department.
What you will do
- Involvement in all aspects of the development and delivery of embedded control system software for FZ, including design, implementation, simulation, testing and calibration.
- Specialisation in dynamic systems simulation with specific application to control system development.
- Develop strategies for formalising dynamic simulation methodologies.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field of dynamic systems simulation so that the best solutions can be applied to future projects.
- Develop FZ standards on embedded code/software/algorithm release processes including MIL, SIL, HIL testing and defining the required tool chain.
- Implement a process to achieve compliance with automotive industry modelling, simulation and software standards, methods and processes.
Other duties
- Ensure the customer’s requirements are understood across the projects involved.
- Work with the project lead to support the establishment of production and test procedures and practices aimed at progressively developing a robust solution to the agreed specification.
- Specify and develop test rigs and protocols to support the design validation process, implementing the developed software and hardware solution and providing support to other functions as necessary.
- Maintain awareness of technology developments across the broader market and advise the team as appropriate.
- Work towards generating patentable IP, technical reports and conference papers.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals for electrical, power and control systems.
- Represent the business appropriately in customer‑facing meetings.
About You
- Degree‑qualified (or equivalent) with significant experience of controls and software in the specialist automotive or motorsport field.
- Deep technical knowledge in relevant engineering discipline(s).
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with systems engineering and lifecycle management.
- Desired experience delivering and supporting complex products across a complete product life cycle.
