The motorsport and advanced engineering business unit has a team comprising of design engineers and engineering analysts. An analyst is required to co‑ordinate and perform engineering studies and system simulation using Matlab, Python, CFD and FEA. The ideal candidate has experience across thermal, hydraulic and electrical systems. The projects are high performance in nature, with a focus on lightweight and powerful systems across motorsport, defence and other applications.
What you will do:
- Responsible for simulation and data analysis across mechanical, electrical and thermal projects.
- Duty cycle evaluation for electric powertrain systems such as high voltage batteries.
- Lead the engineering approach for optimisation against requirements.
- Design standard contributions for performance, efficiency.
- Produce reports with clear objectives, methods and results for ongoing use.
- Effective communication with other engineering teams.
- Continuously improve engineering and business systems and processes.
- Interpret regulations and standards, then develop plans to demonstrate conformity.
- Problem identification and fault rectification at system level.
- Data analysis of application use cases, developing and reporting key metrics.
- Use analysis to participate in design reviews and improve the products.
- Occasional event or test support, focussed on using data to support analysis methods.
- Adopt ownership of correlation between models, testing and deployment of the real product and devices to drive engineering accuracy.
About You:
- Must have high quality analysis experience (>5 years) in high performance applications such as motorsport, defence, aerospace.
- Significant exposure to HV systems, rotating machinery, power electronics, energy storage and low volume applications is highly desirable.
- Composites and structures familiarity with FEA experience is advantageous.
- Cooling system design with CFD is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership potential alongside effective communication skills.
- Must be able to achieve and maintain Base Line Security Clearance (BPSS) for this role.
- Ability to travel outside the UK.
