An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Performance Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in an exciting work environment.
About The Role
This is a key position in a fast‑paced racing environment, with the purpose to enhance the vehicle dynamics and controls system performance of our race cars.
What you will do
- Work trackside and in the factory with the drivers & engineering team to maximise vehicle performance.
- Use Vehicle Dynamics, Aerodynamics & Tyre understanding together with track or simulation data to identify ways to increase performance.
- Tune advanced braking, traction, differential, energy management and vehicle dynamics control systems.
- Work closely with the wider control engineering team, the FIA & common suppliers to build safety, legality, reliability & performance into the hardware & software.
- Attend DIL, Rig, Test and Race events as appropriate to monitor performance and suggest mechanical and/or control system changes to optimise the car.
- Build offline tools and models to assist with the analysis of vehicle performance.
- Perform pre & post‑event analyses of car performance covering all aspects, but with specific focus on vehicle dynamics and control systems.
About You
- Previous performance & analysis engineering experience in advanced road car applications or world championship level motorsport (FE / F1 / WEC / WRC) – Minimum 7 Years.
- Strong Masters degree in mechanical, automotive or control related engineering discipline.
- Whilst we don’t expect you to write code, experience with vehicle controls systems is an advantage.
- Advanced vehicle dynamics, Aerodynamics and tyres understanding.
- Understanding of dynamic simulation, control system theory, state estimation and advanced control techniques would be an advantage.
- Proficiency and interest in computational methods and numerical analysis.
- Experience with Canopy, HHDM, MAT Tool Chain & Race Watch an advantage.

- Flexible approach to working hours with consideration of the time-sensitive nature of motorsport.
- The role may require significant travel and/or Ops room support. Race & Test events will require working long hours over weekends.
