An opportunity has arisen for a No 1 Mechanic to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in an exciting work environment.
About The RoleTo manage all test car and assembly build activities ensuring Technical Drawings and Bulletins are captured and adhered to, relevant spares are defined and available and that build schedules are followed. Provide trackside vehicle build and lead test mechanics group for all test events.
What you will do- Manage all test car and rig build activities ensuring hardware is assembled correctly using Technical Drawings, Technical Bulletins and Build Specification documentation whilst ensuring agreed build schedules are adhered to.
- Ensure the Test team are adhering to defined HSE policy both trackside and at the factory to ensure safe running of the car at all times (safety checks, signage, PPE etc).
- In conjunction with the Parts Co‑ordinator, ensure all test hardware usage is captured accurately to allow for prompt recording in lifing software after every test / rig use.
- Test Team pit equipment responsibility.
- Ensure the test team pit equipment is available and at the correct spec, remaining race relevant for ease of transfer of info between race and test teams.
- Record / highlight faults to design and engineering as necessary.
- To build up and pack down garage / track setup environments as required.
- Assist in the packing of air freight / trucks as required.
- Champion workshop operation best practice.
- Set the example for junior and senior technicians alike.
- Assist in Identifying ways to improve the department and personnel performance.
- Maintain positive relationships with all other factory departments and company personnel.
- Maintain high standard of staff and department presentation.
- To be able to work under their own initiative when necessary.
- To have a ‘can do’ proactive attitude day in day out and proactively support others to complete their tasks.
- Complete tasks within agreed time frames.
- On occasion, work outside of ‘normal’ hours.
- To follow and actively enforce the company’s health and Safety policy.
- Previously operated as a #1 Mechanic at a race/rally team on a world stage.
- Experience of managing varying workloads.
- Familiar with HV vehicle operating protocols an advantage.
- Confident with Microsoft Office suite (Excel / OneNote / Word).
