About The Role
To support the management of all contracting and procurement activities to support the efficient delivery of Indirect Spend.
The role must ensure all goods, services and works are procured in a cost-effective, transparent and compliant manner, while aligning with group, legal and industry standards.
What you will do
- C&P Planning & Execution
- Support the preparation and updating of the Indirect specific CSR/PSR, register and/or log that align with the programme schedules and budget requirements.
- Manage the Indirect inbox and Indirect Purchase Requisition (PR) queue in D365, ensuring PRs are delegated to category leads as appropriate.
- Place Purchase Orders in line with Global guidelines.
- Support the implementation of sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories.
- Contract Management
- Engage in all end-to-end C&P processes – from identification of potential suppliers, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, CAR preparation & approval process and contract award.
- Support activities in supplier identification, prequalification and shortlisting.
- Coordinate the implementation of NDAs and T&Cs with suppliers.
- Prepare supplier performance data and work with supplier quality assurance team to ensure effective supplier development plans are in place and executed.
- Foster strategic supplier relationships to ensure continuous supply, innovation and cost optimisation.
- Alongside team, develop supplier performance measures in conjunction with supplier quality assurance and logistics.
- Identify and evaluate key risks at contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (e. g. engineering, legal, quality etc.).
- Support the preparation of Contract Award Recommendations and onboard suppliers to ensure efficient award.
- Administer contract execution, including correspondence, contract notices and claims assessment.
- Resolve any invoice queries arising from Contracts & POs.
- Cost Initiatives
- Identify and promote cost reductions associated with the delivery of programmes to meet financial goals and report versus target monthly.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Relationships
- Build and develop interdepartmental relationships within Fortescue to provide overall business improvement.
- Actively facilitate coordination and communications between different departments, team members and stakeholders to ensure effective alignment.
- Flag emerging risks and issues as soon as identified to relevant stakeholders.
- Management Reporting
- Provide management reporting on programme performance to ensure that the C&P activities are happening on a proactive basis, assisting with delivering programmes in tight time frames.

Maintain and update C&P records and generate reports on C&P activity to meet organisation compliance and provide access to C&P information.
About You
- Team player with the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn and adopt new ways of working.
- Basic knowledge of contract law, C&P principles and negotiation techniques.
- Basic pre and post contract experience.
- Technical and/or commercial education to a minimum of degree level; membership of CIPS would be advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment across multiple packages, and drive the work to ensure successful outcomes.
- Ability to bring a flexible, problem‑solving mindset, challenging traditional thinking and be prepared to work outside of the comfort zone.
- Strong data‑driven and visual reporting skills, ensuring quantified status and risk is communicated.
- High level experience and knowledge in the use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Excellent prioritising, organisation, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
