An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Operations / Bid Manager to join the Commercial department.

About The Role

As a Commercial Operations / Bid Manager within the Commercial Operations team, you will lead and manage the end-to-end bid process from early opportunity identification through to final proposal submission.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, effectively managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder contributions to ensure the delivery of high-quality, competitive proposals.

A key part of this role is driving excellence within Commercial Operations, ensuring robust governance, consistent processes, and strong commercial discipline across all bidding activity.

You will play an important role in aligning bids with broader commercial strategy, supporting risk management, pricing integrity, and value creation for the business.

You will also be a key contributor to shaping and executing our growth strategy, strengthening our position across both established and emerging markets.

Through your leadership, collaboration, and commercial insight, you will help secure new opportunities and deliver sustainable business success.

What you will do

• Operational Duties

  • Lead end to end bid process – Opportunity identification to proposal submission.
  • Bid management process
  • Review, analyse and flow down customer requirements
  • Develop bid strategies with key stakeholders
  • Establish plans and timelines
  • Management of bid teams
  • Coordinate, facilitate and lead bid launches, progress meetings, approval meetings
  • Conduct post-bid reviews
  • Co-ordinate and collaborate with various teams including, sales, technical, finance, legal and subject matter experts to ensure all aspects of the bid are addressed.
  • Develop pricing strategies with finance and sales that align to business targets and bid requirements
  • Generate and analyse pricing models and value propositions
  • Coordinate internal approvals and governance processes, including preparing materials and managing stakeholder input through to decision.
  • Draft executive-ready memos, briefing notes, and decision papers for senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and any industry regulations and standards
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate bid documentation and records
  • Monitor and track bid performance, KPIs and budgets
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to bid response packages
  • Engage with Customer through bid process and support negotiations
  • Continuous refinement of processes and develop best practice to improve efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Draft and review financial models and business cases to support investment and commercial decision-making
  • Assist in developing go-to-market (GTM) strategies
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing Agreements
  • Support the development and management of relationships with strategic partners, and help develop partnering strategies to enable and grow these relationships
  • Proactively “gap fill” to support strategic priorities, stepping in where needed to deliver outcomes
  • Demonstrate resilience in a fast-changing environment, adapting quickly to evolving priorities, targets, and stakeholder needs.

About You

  • Previous experience in a bid manager, proposal manager or similar role
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience in managing complex projects and multiple concurrent bids
  • Strong understanding of the bid lifecycle, proposal writing, contract development
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical and creative thinking and ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
