We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Measham Redbank team in the position of Deputy Engineering Manager. To support the Engineering Manager to complete his duties and to provide cover for him when away. The holder will also use this role to build his knowledge of the plant whilst working for the engineering manager so that a succession plan can be enacted when the engineering manager retires.

You will be jointly responsible for the maintenance and performance of all site equipment. Your duties would include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide cover for the Engineering Manager when not on site.
  • Be part of the site leadership team.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in planning and running daily activities.
  • Support the management of plant breakdowns.
  • Develop the site PPM system, and work on its implementation.
  • Build a list of site critical spares for key plant and equipment.
  • Ensure that key spares are held on site, or are available in a timely fashion.
  • Plan the refurbishment of key machines in a time-based fashion.
  • Assist in planning maintenance shut downs.
  • Help ensure budget control within the engineering function.
  • Produce SOPs and RA’s where required including reviewing relevant documents.
  • Comply with all Forterra requirements.

About You:

  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Teams.
  • A minimum level of education to HNC in an engineering discipline or similar.
