We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Northampton team in the position of Tax Accountant.
Your duties would include but not be limited to the following:
- All direct and indirect tax compliance processes including preparing and submitting Corporation Tax computations and QIP’s.
- Oversee preparation of quarterly VAT returns and undertake first level review.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines for all tax filings and payments.
- Work with external consultants and the wider business to maximise R&D credit claims.
- Seek opportunities to maximise tax reliefs and efficiencies to optimise tax liabilities through effective tax planning, considering the Company’s risk appetite.
- Provide support to the Head of Tax in technical tax matters.
- Handle tax accounting for year-end and half-year-end, budgets, and forecasts. Manage external audit requirements for tax.
- Forecast all cash tax payments for cash flow purposes.
- Assist with the tax control framework to ensure alignment with best practices and compliance with SAO and CCO requirements.
- Assist in setting and reviewing tax strategy and policy for the company.
- Ensure adherence to the off-payroll worker policy within the business.
- Provide internal tax advisory services, supporting HR and Payroll with employment tax matters as needed.
- Actively participate in training and mentoring junior members of the finance team.
About You:
- CTA qualified/part-qualified preferred, or ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with at least 3 years’ experience in a tax role.
- Ability to prioritise and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships across the business.
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK tax legislation.
