We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Desford team as a Maintenance Team Leader.

The successful candidate will lead the site maintenance team on shift and play an active role in electrical and mechanical maintenance activities. As a maintenance team leader, you will be responsible for leading a team to rectify malfunctions and breakdowns safely, ensuring the continuity and productivity of the plant. The role requires a 100% commitment to a zero-tolerance safety culture and continuous improvement.

Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the shift maintenance team
  • Report on shift maintenance activities
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety, complying with legislative and company standards
  • Deputise for the Shift Manager when necessary
  • Ensure proper maintenance reporting through the CMMS system
  • Complete Major Breakdown Reports as required
  • Lead TPM/PPM activities
  • Monitor each stage of the process
  • Identify and fit correct spare parts for safe operation
  • Rectify stoppages/malfunctions and escalate support when needed
  • Follow PPE policies and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Report safety issues to management
  • Adhere to LOTOTO procedures and lead complex isolations
  • Work independently, making decisions for repairs and improvements
  • Motivate and lead your team for optimal results
  • Possess good knowledge of PLCs, automated equipment, and fault diagnosis on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Understand HMI systems and relate system operation to faults
  • Work with modern control systems, sensors, inverters, and safety devices
  • Attend specialist training, which may involve overnight stays
  • Ensure safety standards and environmental regulations are consistently followed
  • Maintain PPE in good condition
  • Perform other duties as delegated by management

About You:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Formal education or qualification in Electrical maintenance
