We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Kirton team in the position of Cleaner.
The role involves ensuring the regular cleaning of plant amenities, maintaining Health and Safety standards for staff, and supporting plant/machinery to operate efficiently with minimal downtime. Cover must be provided for production personnel, with relevant competencies maintained at all times.
Your duties include but are not limited to:
- Cleaning designated areas of K3 machines and the De-Hacker on a set rota, with flexibility for priority situations.
- Vacuuming dust from production areas daily to reduce dust and silica exposure.
- Cleaning and restocking toilets and shower areas.
- Liaising with the store manager regarding stock levels and requirements.
- Processing overalls for cleaning and redistribution around the yard.
- Re-bagging stock as instructed, including lifting, wrapping, and restocking.
- Emptying waste bins from workstations into correct waste containers.
- Unloading stock deliveries safely and correctly storing items.
- Reporting health and safety concerns to the shift supervisor or management.
- Wearing correct PPE at all times.
- Carrying out vehicle pre-start checks, maintaining a daily log, and reporting defects.
- Being familiar with emergency procedures.
- Driving vehicles in accordance with best practices and qualifications, maintaining awareness of pedestrians and traffic.
About you:
No formal qualifications are required; however, a minimum of 3 months training supervised by a competent operator is necessary, with assessment against a competency checklist.
