Central London (Working from our Film Studios) Can work from home one day a week.

The Role

We are looking for a financial controller to join the team at our award winning, established film and video production agency and Film Studio.

Reporting

Reporting to the Fractional CFO and Managing Director, you will be responsible for.

  • Finance
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and report variances, providing actionable insights to management.
  • Regular Tasks
  • Daily reconciliation of bank and nominal ledger balances and maintain accurate ledgers – Sales, Purchases & General.
  • Produce management accounts for CFO to review
  • Complete and file VAT Returns.
  • Credit Control – chasing clients for outstanding balances and negotiation with suppliers for better credit terms.
  • Prepare and propose daily payment runs
  • Manage supplier payments and communications
  • Monitor overheads expenses and general cost of sales
  • Ensure Purchase orders processes and system are adhered to and fit for purpose
  • Routine procedures – checking off invoices against purchase orders, generating invoices, filing and other ad hoc accounting responsibilities.
  • Raising invoices for projects

Qualifications & Skills

  • AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience.
  • 3+ years’ work experience in SME.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
  • Extensive experience with data entry & record keeping.
  • Proficiency in Xero & Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Capable of working under pressure and independently.
  • Identify areas where processes can be improved.
  • Attention to detail and manage tight deadline.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and support employees.
  • A good understanding of the key principles of employment law.
