The Role:
This is a highly proactive, commercially driven role focused on generating new business and building long-term brand partnerships. As Account Director, you will take ownership of identifying, targeting, and developing a specific sector of your choosing, whether that be fashion, gaming, fintech, or another area where you see opportunity. You will be given the autonomy to define your approach, build a pipeline, and establish Fortemus Films as a trusted creative partner within that space. Alongside new business generation, you will manage and grow client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while identifying opportunities for repeat work. You will work closely with the creative and production teams to create proposals, pitch campaigns, and convert opportunities into high-quality productions. This role is ideal for someone driven, well-connected, and motivated by both creative work and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take a proactive and strategic approach to identifying and securing new business, with a focus on developing a chosen sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brand-side marketing teams, agencies, and key decision-makers.
- Develop and execute outreach strategies, including networking, direct engagement, and industry relationship building.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to pitch, negotiation, and project confirmation.
- Lead the development of creative proposals and pitch materials in collaboration with internal teams.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and a high level of service throughout each project.
- Oversee projects from brief through to delivery, working closely with producers and creatives to ensure timelines, budgets, and expectations are met.
- Contribute directly to revenue growth, meeting and exceeding individual and team sales targets.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within your chosen sector.
- Keep accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client activity within internal systems.
- Provide insight and feedback to management on new markets, opportunities, and strategic growth areas.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, ideally within media, video production, advertising, or a related creative industry.
- Proven track record of generating new business and delivering revenue growth.
- Strong network or experience within at least one relevant industry sector (e.g. fashion, gaming, fintech, etc.).
- Confident pitching ideas and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Commercially minded with a strong understanding of budgets, margins, and deal negotiation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working within or alongside creative or production teams.
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working autonomously.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
