Due to our continued success here at Fortem, we are delighted to confirm that we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. This role involves working with a large social housing provider on retrofit projects in the Yorkshire region. The overall objective of the Project Manager will be to organise and manage the delivery of multiple projects in-line with the contract requirement. This will be working in partnership with The Guinness Partnership.

The Project

  • Organise and review works schedules, including resources, materials and supply chain requirements
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a build in accordance with the specification and project requirements
  • Follow procedures to mitigate risks of complaints when working in or around occupied premises
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project team and contractors
  • Engage and develop excellent relationships with supply chain, client representatives and consultants
  • Plan cost effective use of resources and forecast resource requirements in line with budget and projected works
  • Ensure resources are adequate and competency of the team for the works involved
  • Securing strong relationships with the client to ensure the potential for follow on works
  • Monitor work to agreed preliminaries budget
  • Identify risk and put in place appropriate contingency planning

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential:

  • Demonstrable Construction Project Management
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand programmes, drawings, schedules and specifications
  • Proven ability to work to and develop operating procedures
  • Comfortable producing progress updates for the client in preparation for client meetings and internal reviews
  • To be commercially aware, comfortable working alongside the commercial team, confident in challenging others and ensuring programme deadlines are achieved
  • Full working knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation including but not restricted to the CDM regulations
  • A valid CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate
  • Minimum level 4 qualification (NVQ4 or HNC)
  • Role Appropriate CSCS card
  • First Aid at work certificate
  • Valid driver's license

Desirable:

  • Experience of working on Retrofit projects
  • Experience of working for a social housing client
  • Experience of overseeing multiple projects with a number of Site, assistant site managers, CLO's reporting to you
  • Temporary works experience would be advantageous
