Fortem, part of the Willmott Dixon Group, specialise in capital and retrofit programmes within the social housing sector and are specialists in works to high rise / high risk buildings. We require an Assistant Site Manager to oversee an accelerated retrofit cladding replacement & refurbishment programme to four high rise blocks in central Bristol. This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30.

This will be working within our Bristol City Council contract, which includes retrofit cladding replacement & refurbishment programme to four high rise blocks in central Bristol. The four high-rise projects will be wrapped in either tube and fitting scaffold or mast climbers, to enable access for the removal and replacement of both existing render systems and brick slips. Multiple MEP services will be removed and reinstated progressively with the façade replacement works. Roof level cappings and lightning protection systems will be enhanced and replaced during the project.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and vision to promote the Fortem brand within our chosen market place.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Lead and monitor project strategies to achieve the company’s sustainability objectives.
  • Identify and manage commercial risk.
  • Develop excellent relationships with client representatives, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop excellent relationships with the supply chain.
  • Recruit, train, develop, motivate and retain high quality Fortem staff to deliver high levels of service delivery.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the client and project team.
  • Ensure a robust strategy is in place for dealing with complaints and managing defects.
  • Support our commitment to sustainability.
  • Ensure robust strategy for delivering quality throughout project lifecycle with Zero defects as a target on handover.

What You Will Need

Essential

  • Experience of delivering large scale Construction projects, through subcontract supply chain arrangements.
  • UK driving license.
  • CSCS card.
  • First Aid at work certificate.

Desirable

  • Experience of retrofit projects delivered to PAS2035 or similar standards ideally.
  • Social housing refurbishment experience.
  • SMSTS.
  • Scaffolding experience.
  • Experience of supporting external façade systems, roofing, fire remediation and fire protections systems, structural works, groundworks, concrete repairs, internal refurbishment etc.
