Our client is on the lookout for a driven and creative Design Engineer to join their talented team!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Transform written specs and concept sketches into high-quality 3D models and detailed drawings ready for manufacture.
  • Work alongside Design Managers and Project Engineers to develop precise, production-ready designs – all within project timelines.
  • Make sure every drawing and bill of materials hits the mark, both technically and to internal standards.
  • Stick to our drawing systems and make sure everything is named, filed, and formatted just right.

Your Day-to-Day Could Include:

  • Taking guidance from experienced engineers while contributing your own ideas.
  • Creating accurate, on-time drawings that help keep projects moving.
  • Collaborating with our manufacturing team to make sure your designs work on the shop floor.
  • Visiting sites occasionally to carry out surveys or help solve engineering challenges.
  • Building and refining 3D models, checking drawings, and prepping everything for release.
  • Making sure every part is accounted for with a complete bill of materials.
  • Flagging any key safety concerns and working with the team to address them.
  • Helping investigate issues, find root causes, and improve design processes.
  • Sitting in on design and production meetings when needed.
  • Carrying out basic design calculations to support the team.
  • Pitching in with similar tasks as needed to support the business.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience of working on Design of large scale, complex manufacturing product (essential)
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD software).
  • At least 2 years of hands-on design-for-manufacture experience.
  • Solid knowledge of health & safety regulations.
  • Confidence with MS Office tools.
  • Clear communicator – both written and verbal.
