Fortem Solutions are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join our Repairs team on our Stonewater contract. The office is based in Chippenham but we need someone to work in and around the Yeovil / Salisbury area. This is a full time, permanent position and we are looking for an experienced leader with exceptional people management skills. Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm. A company van will be provided with a fuel card for work purposes only.

The Client

Our contract with Stonewater is long term with the option to extend the partnership again. On our contract we cover over 7,500 houses in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth. We currently deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and an Electrical Service program. We pride ourselves on our great customer service and our senior leadership team has years of experience within this sector which can help you develop your learning and knowledge base.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of tradespeople to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, meeting deadlines and achieving first-time success.
  • Collaborate with various departments and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels to deliver exceptional service.
  • Motivate, coach, and retain skilled tradespeople, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement a method for accurately assessing and categorising the competency levels of all team members.
  • Oversee the Health & Safety performance of contractors, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Manage the selection, recruitment, and ongoing performance of tradespeople, ensuring the team consistently meets company standards.

What You Will Need

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of supervising teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent dispute resolution skills
  • Good understanding of building maintenance
  • Full UK driving licence (6 points max)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience within the social housing sector
