Due to continued successful growth, we have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem team at Orbit Housing as a Trade Supervisor for our West Midlands patch. The Supervisor will join the Disrepair and D&M team based in Stratford Upon Avon, Coventry, Rugby and surrounding areas. We are seeking strong leaders who understand Social Housing and can demonstrate achieving productivity from their team of trades whilst maintaining good staff retention and development.

The Supervisor will be responsible for leading our trade employees for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties. We pay a competitive salary + MEA at £4,000 or provide a Company Van + annual staff bonus up to 10% with an excellent benefits package.

Our Services: Fortem Solutions are a very successful Nationwide business specialising in the Social Housing sector for over 20 years. We provide Repairs & Maintenance, Planned, Retrofit, Capital Works and Decarbonisation workstreams within Local Authorities and Housing Associations and are part of the Willmott Dixon Group. Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing. We are currently rated as 4.5 on Glassdoor and 93% of staff would recommend to a friend!

What will I be doing?

  • Our supervisors work from our Stratford upon Avon based office Monday – Friday 8.00am- 4.30pm with regular site visits across the patch so travel is essential.
  • Ensure the works management system is kept up to date includes Job details, dates, comments, SOR codes.
  • Manage the diaries of Trades from all Trade disciplines.
  • Review diaries of operatives to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Support with Management of sub-contractors.
  • Processing of any certification including WTN as required.
  • Raising of purchase orders/subcontract orders if required.
  • Keeping the client & management up to date on progress of the work.
  • Record detail accurately on our systems and associated administration to ensure real time information is available on all works.
  • Ensuring you are escalating issues & providing updates, which require Management intervention or review.
  • Ensuring good health and safety practices are adhered to across your trade team.

What will I need?

  • Previous Housing Repairs or Void maintenance experience at Supervisory level.
  • Commercial awareness & Good understanding of building maintenance.
  • Able to mentor and lead a busy team to successful results.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer literate – Word, Excel and various databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional organisation and planning skills.
  • Common sense approach.
