Fortem Solutions is currently recruiting for a Repairs Supervisor to join our Cambridge Housing Society contract.
This will be covering our repairs and maintenance for social housing, based in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for an experienced Repairs Supervisor to manage, support and motivate a team of tradespeople to complete work, first time, on time, safely and efficiently.
You will need to work closely with various departments and the client at all levels to ensure an excellent service is delivered.
This is a permanent position and the core hours are Monday to Friday – 8am to 4:30pm.
You will work alongside other supervisors delivering to various geographical areas and workstreams.
The Client
Cambridge Housing Society is a long‑term partnership with houses covering the whole of Cambridgeshire, from Wisbech down to Haverhill, although primarily situated in central Cambridge.
There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we will be looking after their repairs, voids, cyclical works and planned workstreams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for a team of trades providing direct line management
- Motivate, coach and retain our tradespeople and ensure commitment, outstanding workmanship and performance in line with KPIs
- Involved with the selection and recruitment of tradespeople
- Performance management and devise a method for accurately assessing and categorising the competency profile of all team members
- Assist the Operations Manager to ensure operational performance is optimised and trade efficiency is at its maximum
- Continually review trade performance with the Operations Manager to ensure efficiency and first‑time fix ratio is maximised while non‑productive time is kept to an absolute minimum
- Ensure a high‑quality team is maintained including performance management, succession planning and personal development
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and key stakeholders
- Deliver trade and vehicle audits in line with company health & safety policy
- Manage sub‑contractors ensuring performance and quality of works undertaken is to the highest of standards
- Health and safety performance of sub‑contractors will be critical; the successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of how to manage sub‑contractors effectively
- Actively manage the suppliers to deliver best value into the account
