Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent permanent opportunity to join us as a Kitchen Fitter in the Planned Works Team at Amplius Housing in Rushden. The Kitchen Fitter will be responsible for the removal and full reinstallation of planned works kitchens to social housing properties predominantly in the Rushden, Northamptonshire area, but the patch does stretch across to Leicestershire, Peterborough down to Huntingdon and St Neots, so travel is essential.

This role requires core carpentry skills and basic plumbing, and any other trades such as tiling or flooring are advantageous. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.30 pm. A work van, fuel card, and tools are provided!

You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The Multi Trade takes ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company health and safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional around the tenants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completing full reinstallation of new kitchens to a set timeframe and budget.
  • Using strong carpentry and basic plumbing skills for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
  • Advising the supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
  • Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
  • Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems and electronic devices.
  • Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
  • Arranging the purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
  • Complying with safeguarding policy and health and safety standards at all times.
  • Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures.
  • Using a PDA smartphone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What you will need:

Essential criteria:

  • NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry / OR qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Kitchen fitting experience.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Must be able to pass a basic DBS check.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Social housing experience.
