Fortem Solutions is recruiting for a Supervisor to join our Cambridge Housing Society contract. This role will cover Voids, Planned works or Repairs and maintenance for Social Housing, based in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. The Supervisor will manage, support and motivate a team of tradespeople to complete work first time, on time, safely and efficiently. You will work closely with various departments and the Client at all levels to ensure an excellent service is delivered and will collaborate with other Supervisors across different geographical areas and workstreams.
The Client
The contract with Cambridge Housing Society launches on 1 April and covers nearly 3,000 properties across Cambridgeshire, including Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct line management for a team of trades.
- Motivate, coach and retain tradespeople, ensuring commitment, outstanding workmanship and performance in line with KPIs.
- Participate in selection and recruitment of tradespeople.
- Develop methods for accurately assessing and categorising the competency profile of all team members.
- Assist the Operations Manager to optimise operational performance and maximise trade efficiency.
- Review trade performance with the Operations Manager to maximise efficiency, first‑time fix ratio and minimise non‑productive time.
- Maintain a high‑quality team, including performance management, succession planning and personal development.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and key stakeholders.
- Deliver trade and vehicle audits in line with Company Health & Safety policy, ensuring sub‑contractor performance and quality meet the highest standards.
- Manage sub‑contractor Health and Safety performance and demonstrate effective sub‑contractor management.
- Actively manage suppliers to deliver best value for the account.
