We are inviting expressions of interest from skilled and experienced Repairs and maintenance Multi Trades for future full-time roles which could be based in The West Midlands area, as we prepare for several exciting upcoming projects.
Our Services
Fortem Solutions are a very successful nationwide business specialising in the Social Housing sector for over 20 years. We provide Repairs & Maintenance, Planned, Retrofit, Capital Works and Decarbonisation workstreams within Local Authorities and Housing Associations and are part of the Willmott Dixon Group. Our Trades include Carpenter Multi, Plumber Multi, Electricians, Plasterers, Groundworkers and will be responsible for providing seamless repairs and maintenance to our client’s social housing properties.
We are looking for experienced Trades who can commit to full time hours working Mon‑Fri 8.00am‑4.30pm. This includes a Company Van for work use only & Fuel card, all Tools, PPE/Uniform and an excellent benefits package. Options for generous overtime and on‑call pay are also available.
What will I be doing?
- You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision.
- The Multi Trade takes ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional around the tenants.
- Using strong trade skills in your profession whether that be Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrics, Plastering and or Groundworks for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
- Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
- Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
- Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
- Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
- Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
- Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
- Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures.
- Travelling across the patch to various addresses using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.
What you will need
- NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry, Plumbing, Plastering / OR Qualified by experience will be considered.
- Electricians must have NVQ3 with AM2 portfolio of works, 18th Edition as essential – 2391, testing and inspection is desirable but not essential at this stage.
- Full UK Driving license with less than 6 points and no recent driving bans.
- Must be able to pass basic DBS check.
Our excellent Company Benefits package includes competitive annual salary and we provide a company van and fuel card for work purposes. Eligible for bonus up to 5% per annum. 25 days annual leave.
