Here at Fortem we’re recruiting for an IT Training & Embedment Specialist to join our IT team. This role can be based in various offices, however will most likely be based in Hitchin, Birmingham, or Sheffield, depending on which is closer for you. The core purpose of this role will be to improve the effective use of IT across Fortem by providing high-quality training, driving embedment of all IT systems, and ensuring staff have the confidence and capability to use systems correctly and consistently.

The Company Fortem Solutions are a nationwide business specialising in the Social Housing sector. We provide Repairs & Maintenance, Retrofit, Capital Works and Decarbonisation workstreams within Local Authorities and Housing Associations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the embedment of new systems and upgrades, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption to the business.
  • Creating and delivering training for internal and external users.
  • Working closely with the National Assurance Manager and all Fortem branches, the role will define the IT training requirements for all systems using 5-star audit outcomes to target where training is needed.
  • Establish and lead on a systems-led audit as part of the 5-star branch audits.
  • Act as a bridge between the business and IT working to increase the effectiveness of the use of IT systems of all staff.
  • Working with the business across all workstreams to understand where IT developments can create value across Fortem.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication & stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience delivering training or user support within a back-office, commercial, or operational environment.
  • Confident facilitator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse business problems and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience communicating insights to non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple demands.
  • Curiosity, continuous improvement mindset, and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Regular UK travel is essential to engage directly with stakeholders across all Fortem sites.

  • Experience of creating e-learning courses.
  • Experience within the social housing or property maintenance sector.
  • Patient, supportive and able to adapt training styles to different learning needs & styles.
