Due to continued successful growth, we have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem team at Amplius Housing as a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade which uses core carpentry skills, basic plumbing and a range of other trade skills including tiling, window repairs, patch plastering and flooring. The Carpenter Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to social housing properties covering a patch across Birmingham. Our office is based in Walsall and travel is essential. Our core hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Completing carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
  • Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
  • Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
  • Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
  • Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
  • Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
  • Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
  • Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures.
  • Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

Personal Qualities Essential Criteria:

  • NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry / OR Qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Full UK driving license with less than 6 points and no recent driving bans.
  • Must be able to pass basic DBS check.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Social housing experience.
