Join Fortegra Europe's finance team supporting the financial operations of a growing international insurance business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll help manage premium and claims accounting, cash reconciliations, bordereaux processing, regulatory tax reporting, and month‑end financial activities while gaining exposure to the financial operations of regulated insurance entities. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role plays an important part in supporting the day‑to‑day financial operations of Fortegra Europe.
You’ll work across premium and claims accounting, cash management, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and month‑end close activities, helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple regulated insurance entities. This is an excellent opportunity for a part‑qualified accountant looking to build a career within the insurance industry, offering exposure to delegated authority business, bordereaux processing, indirect tax reporting, cash flow management, and financial reporting in a fast‑paced international environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Update ITD premium / claims files from bordereaux data.
- Work with the Claims team to make required Claim float Top‑Ups and monitor loss funds.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly cession statements for Fortegra Europe.
- Preparation of monthly cash reconciliation.
- Build relationships with TPAs to monitor & resolve cash queries where applicable.
- Prepare Cash Postings for Fortegra Europe Divisions (to be reviewed & posted by accountant).
- Prepare and update Monthly Cashflow Files to monitor cashflow requirements.
- Monthly Aged Debt analysis.
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices (communicating with US treasury).
- Support bdx processing and credit control teams.
Indirect Tax
- Preparation of IPT files for monthly / quarterly returns.
- Preparation of VAT reverse charge declaration file.
Other
- Produce a copy of the Monthly Trial Balance for Fortegra Europe.
- Quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assistance with Annual Financial Statements audits and external audits.
- Assist with ongoing systems development to build reporting suite for FEIC, FIUK & FBIC (Fortegra Europe regulated entities).
Skills & Competencies
- Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, working accurately with attention to detail, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- We will consider AAT qualified candidates as well as Part Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Advanced level spreadsheet skills and PC literacy.
- Partnership experience ideally with an audit practice background.
