This is an exciting opportunity for a talented claims professional who is seeking a rewarding career with a company that is experiencing significant growth to join our claims team in London. Reporting to the Director of Claims, the Senior Claims Adjuster will be joining a highly motivated team working on a variety of claims arising from financial lines/casualty classes, but with a focus on Professional Indemnity, Cyber and Legal Indemnity insurance claims. The Senior Claims Adjuster will ensure that claims are processed and settled in a timely and equitable manner, whilst constantly striving to develop and improve service and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree and/or a legal qualification desirable.
- Qualified or studying towards ACII qualification desirable.
- Minimum of five (5+) years of professional indemnity claims handling experience with demonstrated growth in responsibility.
- Experience in the London market as a Lead market claims handler, solicitor, broker, loss adjuster, or other relevant capacity.
Primary Job Functions
- Acting within an agreed claims handling authority across a varied portfolio of claims and referring claims which fall outside of this authority.
- Management and oversight of claims TPAs, including reviewing claims which fall outside of the TPA’s DA, analysing key metrics and compliance data and assisting with claim audits.
- Appoint and oversee external experts, including adjusters and lawyers, where appropriate.
- To be actively present at market meetings and conference calls.
- Assisting with the growth of the PI portfolio by engaging with brokers and other external business partners outside of day-to-day claims handling duties and attending meetings with current or potential insured clients, brokers and MGA partners.
- Regularly meeting with underwriters and senior management to provide feedback with regards to notifications received, policy wordings and related risk information with the goal to improve the overall standard of underwriting within Fortegra.
- Ensure claims are handled in accordance with Fortegra policies and regulatory requirements.
- Taking a leading role in other ad hoc activities/project work that may be required.
- Other duties may be assigned as determined by management.

Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Strong technical claims handling capability, with the ability to independently manage complex and high‑value claims.
- Sound understanding of Professional Indemnity, Cyber and casualty insurance products within the London Market with a willingness to manage claims from varied product lines.
- Proven ability to exercise judgement within an authority and to identify, assess, and elevate matters appropriately.
- Good understanding of UK regulatory and compliance requirements, with knowledge of European regulatory frameworks beneficial.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with brokers, underwriters, legal advisers, adjusters and other senior stakeholders.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to balance technical accuracy, customer outcomes, and business objectives.
- Highly organised, proactive and resilient, with the ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, succinct, and well‑reasoned, coverage and strategy advice.
- Ability to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the claims function.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook and Excel.
