The role is critical to not just the organisation but also to the wider group which will ensure you are very much at the coalface of technical innovation & change (AI being a big topic for implementation). Full ownership of the IT space - from IT infrastructure to cyber security. Excellent for a budding leader as you would be given a couple of direct reports from a support perspective to lead.
The IT Lead is responsible for leading the delivery, optimisation and continuous improvement of businesses technical infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned to business needs. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership — acting as the senior technical escalation point while enabling the business to operate efficiently and securely.
Skills required:
- Strong hands-on technical experience in IT infrastructure, systems, and support.
- Experience leading IT projects and delivering technical implementations.
- LAN, WAN and VOIP technologies.
- Windows environment experience (desktop and server architecture incl VM’s).
- Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, VPN, Firewall management.
- Microsoft 365 environments including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Teams and Sharepoint.
- Exchange – on-prem or hosted, plus appropriate gateway / archiving management.
- Experience leading or supporting information security and compliance frameworks (ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials).
- Supplier management experience, with a focus on performance and cost optimisation.
Due to the regular stakeholder engagement and expectations of the role, the position is 3 days a week onsite with 2 days working remotely.
