The What?
You'll join a specialist engineering team delivering secure software solutions for defence and national security customers. Working on long-term, high-impact programmes, you'll be involved in designing, building, testing and deploying Android-based capabilities that support critical operational environments. The work is varied, technically challenging and focused on delivering multiple software releases across complex, security-conscious systems.
Experience required:
- Strong commercial experience developing Android applications using Java.
- Proficient in Java, with exposure to Python and Bash.
- Experience delivering software across the full development lifecycle, from greenfield builds through to production support and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of secure application development, authentication and data protection principles.
- Ability to design technical solutions from client requirements and contribute to architecture and design reviews.
- Confident communicating with stakeholders, presenting technical solutions and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience reviewing complex technical designs and maintaining high engineering standards.
Desirable:
- Experience with AOSP, iOS (Swift), Linux, Kubernetes, air-gapped environments or low-level networking/protocol development.
Onsite work: Due to the nature of the work our client delivers it is essential that you will be working at either client site or in office 5 days a week - our client would also support your application from SC Clearance through to DV clearance.
