Trainee Storeperson/Buyer

GRANTS is part of the Forsyth Group, established in 1911. It is a long-established electrical and instrumentation business serving a worldwide client base in a variety of industries including distillation, oil & gas, power, petrochemical, and domestic. We are looking to recruit a TRAINEE STOREPERSON/BUYER to join our team. This role is ideally suited to a school leaver who is keen to develop their knowledge, skills, and competencies with the aim to becoming a Storeperson or Buyer and support the business by effectively processing and managing stock and materials in accordance with Company procedures to meet demand. Main Duties and Responsibilities: * To receive and inspect goods against delivery notes for accuracy and damages. * Assist when required with the physical movement of stock from the Goods In and Out areas. * Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded. * The continuous audit of all stock by periodic cycle counting. * Responsible for the security, control, and movement of raw material stock. * Undertake problem solving and other tasks as directed by the Storeperson and Buyer. * Loading/unloading truck and moving stock using a forklift. * Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices * Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase * Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing * Operate in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety procedure, and other related company policies.
