We are recruiting a hands-on Snr Project Manager for a growing consultancy that specialises in Manufacturing, rail, local government and infrastructure.

About you:

  • A proven track record of delivering projects end to end, with hands-on involvement in the work itself rather than only overseeing it.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including cost analysis, forecasting and building business cases.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large or incomplete datasets.
  • Business analysis skills, such as process mapping, current-state and future-state analysis, and requirements gathering.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including gathering information from teams you don't manage.
  • Clear written communication, with the ability to turn analysis into practical recommendations and reports for senior audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit sites to assess assets, oversee on-site activity and gather information.
  • Work with teams across the client organisation to collect data and build an accurate picture of current practice.
  • Analyse historical spend, current activity and forecasts to identify investment and maintenance needs.
  • Map processes and develop recommendations for a future asset maintenance and investment model.
  • Develop costed options to support the client's investment planning.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage scope, timelines, risks and deliverables, and report progress to the client and internal team
  • Experience in the rail industry or adjacent would be beneficial
  • Experience with asset management, condition surveys, maintenance strategy or capital investment planning.
  • Experience in consultancy or another client-facing advisory role.
  • Exposure to the utilities sector or local government.
  • A recognised project management qualification, such as APM, PRINCE2 or PMP, or a business analysis or asset management qualification, such as BCS or IAM.
  • A business Analyst background would be beneficial

Who you are

  • Credible and trustworthy. Clients rely on you, and almost all of the consultancy's work comes through long-term relationships.
  • Diplomatic. You can work tactfully with stakeholders who may feel uncertain about the future of their roles.
  • Self-directed. You are comfortable working independently without a corporate playbook, and you enjoy shaping how the work gets done.
  • Energetic and positive. You enjoy being out on site and talking to people.
  • Entrepreneurial. You want to help a growing business succeed and to take on more responsibility over time.
  • A team player. You will fit into a small, collaborative team that works asynchronously and supports each other.
