Job Description
This is a hands‑on senior engineering role focused on building, improving, and extending the core platform.
You will work closely with the founders and take ownership of key areas of the product from WordPress/WooCommerce development through to custom integrations, APIs, and performance optimisation.
This is not a DevOps or infrastructure‑led role.
It is a product engineering role with leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain WordPress / WooCommerce-based eCommerce systems
Develop custom plugins, themes, and backend functionality (PHP)
Design and integrate APIs and third‑party systems
Work across the full stack (PHP + JavaScript)
Improve platform performance, stability, and scalability
Contribute to architecture and technical decision‑making
Support and mentor other developers where required
Work directly with founders to shape product direction
Requirements
Strong commercial experience with PHP development
Proven experience with WordPress and/or WooCommerce
Experience building custom plugins or themes
Strong understanding of JavaScript (vanilla, React or Vue preferred)
Experience with APIs and third‑party integrations
Comfortable working in fast‑moving, product‑focused environments
Able to take ownership of features from concept to deployment
