We are partnering with a fast-scaling organisation operating within the utilities and infrastructure space to hire a Mobile Platform Lead responsible for owning and evolving their React Native mobile ecosystem. This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you will take full ownership of the mobile platform including architecture, CI/CD, release processes, and production stability. The mobile applications are live and actively used in the field. The platform is currently scaling and requires stronger technical ownership, improved engineering standards, and greater delivery consistency.
You will lead a small mobile engineering team (initially contractors, transitioning toward a more permanent structure) while remaining deeply involved in technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Own the React Native mobile platform across iOS and Android
- Lead and mentor a small team of mobile engineers
- Take ownership of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release processes
- Manage App Store and Google Play releases, versioning, and deployment strategy
- Define and evolve mobile architecture, standards, and engineering practices
- Improve production stability, performance, and crash rates
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure realistic delivery planning
- Identify and remove single points of failure within mobile delivery
- Strong commercial experience with React Native and TypeScript
- Proven track record of shipping production mobile apps (iOS & Android)
- Solid understanding of native mobile development (Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin)
- Experience owning or contributing heavily to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane or similar)
- Strong understanding of mobile release cycles and App Store processes
- Experience with mobile architecture patterns (Clean Architecture, MVVM, SOLID principles)
- Strong API integration experience in complex environments
- Experience working with automated testing and CI-gated quality practices
