As part of their continued investment in operational excellence, the club is seeking a highly capable Management Accountant to strengthen its finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytically minded and proactive finance professional to play a key role in driving financial insight and performance at one of the country’s most respected clubs.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting budget holders, and identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes and performance across the club.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board reporting packs
  • Assisting with annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes
  • Business partnering with departmental leads to support cost control and informed decision-making
  • Conducting cost and revenue analysis across key areas of the club, including matchday operations, retail, hospitality, and commercial functions
  • Ensuring the accuracy of accounting entries, accruals, and prepayments
  • Supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting tools, and processes
  • Assisting in year-end close, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements

The Ideal Candidate

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Highly numerate and detail-focused, with a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience in sport, entertainment, or fast-paced commercial environments is a plus
  • Passion for football or live events is advantageous
