We’re currently supporting a fast-growing payments platform in the search for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join on an initial 6-month contract. This role will play a key part in building, securing, and supporting Azure-based environments across a regulated payments platform, working closely with both internal engineering teams and external delivery partners. The position is remote initially, with an expectation of 1–2 days onsite in London longer term.
The Role: As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for provisioning and managing secure Azure environments, implementing CI/CD pipelines, supporting payment platform integrations, and driving operational stability across development through to production. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone comfortable operating in fast-moving fintech or payments environments, with strong ownership across infrastructure, automation, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Azure Infrastructure & Environment Management
- Provision, configure, and maintain Azure environments across Dev, QA, Pre-Prod, and Production
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Build and optimise Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Ensure consistency and environment parity across all stages
- Security & DevSecOps
- Implement security controls across the SDLC including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and secrets management
- Manage Azure AD, Key Vault, RBAC, and secure access controls
- Support compliance initiatives aligned to PSD2 and secure payments standards
- Assist with threat modelling and security reviews
- Payments Platform Support
- Support integrations with payment providers.
- Troubleshoot payment flows and environment-related issues across legacy and EV platforms
- Work closely with QA and engineering teams to support UAT and release readiness
- Monitoring & Reliability
- Implement and maintain monitoring and observability tooling using App Insights and Log Analytics
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and platform stability initiatives
- Contribute to resilience, failover, and backup strategies
Required Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in DevOps or DevSecOps engineering roles
- Strong hands-on Azure experience
- Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
- Azure DevOps Pipelines / CI/CD expertise
- Experience implementing secure SDLC and DevSecOps practices
- Strong understanding of networking, DNS, firewalls, certificates, and routing
- Experience with Docker / containerisation
- Experience within fintech, payments, or regulated environments
