Role Description:
We’re currently searching for an experienced head of commercial to add value to their growth activities by managing the new customer funnel and identifying new commercial opportunities through customer service and marketing efforts to help guide our organisation into the future. You will keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to senior management. An excellent head of commercial has an entrepreneurial mindset and great leadership skills. The ideal candidate will also be a creative strategist with excellent organisational capabilities.
Role Objectives:
- Increase the level of new business opportunities.
- Increase the level of existing customer satisfaction.
- Improve the levels of conversion from first contact through to business acceptance.
- Create and manage a strategy to improve brand awareness and status.
- Manage budgets under control.
- Work across the business to lead and input into customer strategies as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives to accelerate growth.
- Increase new prospects through targeted marketing against the devised strategy.
- Work with intermediary partners on an intermediated savings solution.
- Manage the marketing team to conduct research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities.
- Work within and across the company to create a funnel for new customers to illustrate and improve conversion of prospects.
- Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are met.
- Lead the brand improvement strategies through management of the marketing function.
- Lead liaison with third party marketing suppliers.
- Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
- Assist in setting financial targets and budget development whilst managing and monitoring agreed budgets.
- Manage and measure customer data and input into high level meetings on outputs and actions for this.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in a head of commercial or other relevant role.
- Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients.
- In depth experience of market research methods and analysis.
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial budgeting processes.
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of the UK intermediated savings and investment market.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration, finance or relevant fields.
- Strong working knowledge of CRM systems, Intercom system experience preferred.
- Proven experience in proprietary marketing systems and processes.
- Strong background in the Fintech industry, particularly in Islamic finance or related sectors, preferred.
