About Us

A rapidly scaling food manufacturing business is seeking an Interim Finance & Operations Transformation Lead to help stabilize the organization during a period of transition. Following significant growth and the commissioning of a new production facility, the company requires an experienced interim leader to strengthen financial visibility, optimize profitability, and guide short-term cash and operational discipline.

This is a hands-on, high-impact assignment suited to an experienced finance transformation or FP&A professional with strong manufacturing expertise and the ability to build data-driven insights from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a 13-week rolling cashflow forecast with weekly variance tracking.
  • Build detailed SKU- and customer-level profitability models, incorporating material, labor, overhead, and logistics costs.
  • Create a weekly operating performance dashboard, tracking gross margin, cash position, mix variance, and plant efficiency.
  • Partner with leadership to identify unprofitable SKUs and customers, and support portfolio rationalization decisions.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations to validate the company’s core product lines for profitable scale.
  • Drive working capital improvement initiatives, including collections acceleration, vendor term renegotiations, and inventory discipline.
  • Tighten labor cost control through yield, overtime, and scrap analysis.
  • Establish governance rhythms, providing concise financial insights and progress updates to the CFO, CEO, and executive team.
  • Prepare and present board-level reporting packs summarizing financial health, portfolio performance, and turnaround progress.
  • Support planning for the new production facility relaunch, ensuring alignment with profitability and efficiency goals.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Proven background in financial transformation, turnaround management, or FP&A leadership.
  • Experience within manufacturing — ideally food production, consumer goods, or related industries.
  • Advanced Excel expertise essential (Power Query, array formulas, indirect references, advanced data modeling, data hygiene best practices).
  • Skilled in building SKU- and customer-level profitability and cost models.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One preferred (not essential).
  • Strong understanding of cashflow management, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Confident communicator capable of influencing senior leadership and board stakeholders.
  • Highly independent, analytical, and execution-focused; able to deliver without close supervision.
