About the Role
A leading UK specialist lender is seeking a highly skilled Tableau Developer to join its growing Data & Analytics team. This role plays a key part in transforming complex financial and operational data into accurate, accessible, and insightful dashboards that support decision‑making at all levels of the organisation.
You will work closely with business stakeholders across finance, risk, operations, and commercial teams to design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade BI solutions. This is an opportunity to help mature the bank’s data capabilities and drive a data‑driven culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards , data visualisations, and self‑service analytics tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Finance, Risk, Operations, Commercial) to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
- Optimise dashboard performance, data model efficiency, and user experience.
- Maintain and enhance the Tableau Server environment, including permissions, data sources, refresh schedules, and governance standards.
- Work with data engineering teams to improve data pipelines, data quality, and semantic layers.
- Analyse financial datasets (e.g., lending portfolios, deposits, credit risk, operational metrics) to support business strategy and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure all BI outputs adhere to internal controls, data governance policies, and financial‑services compliance standards.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise for Tableau best practices, dashboard standards, and user training across the organisation.
- Participate in broader data‑transformation initiatives, including modernising reporting processes and enabling self‑service analytics.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing Tableau dashboards and data products.
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server (or Cloud).
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to work with complex joins, CTEs, and large datasets.
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Understanding of data modelling concepts (star schema, normalisation, semantic layers).
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into intuitive data visualisations.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience working in financial services , lending , payments , risk , or similar regulated environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to deliver high‑quality work under time constraints in a fast‑paced environment.
