The Role
As an Engineering Tech Lead, you’ll balance hands-on coding with team leadership, driving technical excellence and ensuring your squad delivers scalable, high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a squad of engineers to develop and optimise search, CMS, and core platform components.
- Contribute hands-on coding around 30% of the time, setting high standards for code quality and best practices.
- Mentor and coach team members through code reviews, pair programming, and regular feedback.
- Work with stakeholders to plan and prioritise technical roadmaps, breaking large projects into actionable tasks.
- Deliver integrations with cutting-edge search technologies (e.g., Algolia) and scalable CMS platforms.
- Champion Agile methodologies, driving collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Promote modern engineering practices such as microservices, API-first development, and event-driven design.
