Overview
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Director (or Head of Delivery) to lead complex, large-scale operational and transformation delivery within a major infrastructure environment. You will be responsible for a team and have line management duties. This role requires you to have Utilities experience, specifically in Gas & Gas distribution.
Role Purpose
To lead and drive end-to-end delivery of complex transformation programmes, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and operational execution, while improving performance, efficiency, and service quality across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large-scale operational transformation initiatives across process, systems, and organisational design
- Lead delivery of complex transformation and operational change programmes
- Translate strategic objectives into clear, executable delivery plans
- Oversee cross-functional teams spanning operational and business functions
- Drive improvements in operational performance, efficiency, and service outcomes
- Establish and maintain strong governance, planning, and delivery discipline
- Manage senior stakeholder relationships across business and operational teams
- Ensure alignment between transformation activity and day-to-day operations
- Drive accountability, pace, and consistency across delivery teams
- Support adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working

Candidate Profile
Experience:
- Proven experience in a Delivery Director / Head of Delivery role within large, complex organisations
- Strong track record delivering operational transformation programmes
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors: Gas / Utilities, Infrastructure / Engineering, Field-based operational environments
- Experience working across both operational and back-office transformation
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale delivery teams and programmes
Skills & Capabilities:
- Strong delivery leadership with a focus on execution and outcomes
- Ability to translate strategy into operational reality
- Excellent stakeholder management, including executive-level engagement
- Strong commercial awareness and performance focus
- Experience establishing governance, planning, and delivery frameworks
