Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer will own critical backend services that power core logistics features, drive architectural improvements and ensure high availability for production systems.

The role requires leading design and delivery of Java‑based microservices, collaborating with product managers and operations to align technical choices with business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot and cloud‑native patterns.
  • Collaborate with product and operations to define service‑level objectives and operational runbooks.
  • Lead code reviews, mentor engineers and raise team engineering standards.
  • Drive performance improvements and troubleshoot production incidents.
  • Contribute to API design, integration strategies and data model decisions.
  • Participate in sprint planning, refinement and demonstrations to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of commercial software development experience, with significant Java expertise.
  • Proven experience building microservices with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, including CI\/CD pipelines and containerisation.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with ORMs like Hibernate\/JPA and performance tuning of database queries.
  • Experience with modern frontend technologies (Type Script, Angular) sufficient to collaborate across teams.
  • Track record of mentoring, technical leadership and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and observability tooling (metrics, tracing, logging).
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross‑functional teams.
