Job Description: This is a hands‑on senior engineering role focused on building, improving, and extending the core platform. You will work closely with the founders and take ownership of key areas of the product from WordPress/WooCommerce development through to custom integrations, APIs, and performance optimisation. This is not a DevOps or infrastructure‑led role. It is a product engineering role with leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain WordPress / WooCommerce‑based eCommerce systems
- Develop custom plugins, themes, and backend functionality (PHP)
- Design and integrate APIs and third‑party systems
- Work across the full stack (PHP + JavaScript)
- Improve platform performance, stability, and scalability
- Contribute to architecture and technical decision‑making
- Support and mentor other developers where required
- Work directly with founders to shape product direction
Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience with PHP development
- Proven experience with WordPress and/or WooCommerce
- Experience building custom plugins or themes
- Strong understanding of JavaScript (vanilla, React or Vue preferred)
- Experience with APIs and third‑party integrations
- Comfortable working in fast‑moving, product‑focused environments
- Able to take ownership of features from concept to deployment
