The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 € per year.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Risk Lawyer to join our Risk & Compliance (R&C) team on a permanent basis. We will consider someone on a full‑time or part‑time basis. This role will have a particular focus on claims and complaints. Legal sector experience is essential and someone with experience with contentious matters.

Responsibilities

  • Consider internal notifications of potential claims or circumstances, review relevant matter files and liaise with fee earners, in conjunction with the Head of R&C, R&C Manager, COLP, COFA and Claims Partners, as appropriate, to produce a summary of the matter and to liaise with insurers and legal advisors as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date schedules of all live notifications / claims matters.
  • Be a key point of contact for insurers and external law firms in relation to notified matters, in collaboration with Claims Partners and Head of R&C.
  • Consider formal complaints, review relevant matter files and liaise with fee earners, draft responses to complaints and work with the Head of R&C, R&C Manager, COLP and COFA to agree the firm’s response to any complaint.
  • Ensure complaints are responded to within the required regulatory timescales and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date schedules of all live complaints.
  • Liaise with the Legal Ombudsman and / or SRA as required in relation to any complaint.
  • Work with the Head of R&C, R&C Manager and COLP to review claims and complaints and to input to management reporting as well as ongoing training and development within the practice teams.
  • Consider debt matters where a potential claim or issue as regards conduct of the matter has arisen, review relevant matter files and liaise with fee earners, in conjunction with the Head of R&C, R&C Manager, COLP, COFA and Claims Partners, as appropriate, to produce a summary of the matter and to liaise with external recovery partners as required.
  • Assist the Head of R&C with annual insurance policy renewal by preparing summaries of live claims / key exposures / details of training undertaken.
  • Assist with the review and preparation of responses to DSARs.
