What you will be doing:

  • Technical Leadership & Design
    • Own the architecture, design and development of electronic systems (analogue, digital, embedded, power, or mixed‑signal depending on product needs).
    • Translate requirements into clear hardware solutions, specifications and design documentation.
    • Lead design reviews, enforce engineering standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
    • Develop test plans, validation strategies and verification activities to ensure product reliability and quality.
  • Project Delivery
    • Define work packages, schedules and technical deliverables to ensure projects are delivered on time, in scope and on budget.
    • Monitor and manage technical risks, issues and design changes.
    • Report project and technical progress to internal stakeholders and the wider management team.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Support Sales and Project Management by providing technical input, costings, and feasibility assessments for bids and proposals.
    • Work closely with Production teams to ensure smooth transfer of designs into manufacturing, including DFM/DFT considerations.
    • Support products throughout their lifecycle, providing expertise to Production, Sales, and Customer Support teams as required.
  • Supplier & Partner Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and technology partners, contributing to component selection and new product ideas.
    • Drive value‑engineering initiatives to reduce cost without compromising performance or quality.
  • Continuous Improvement & Mentoring
    • Champion high‑quality engineering practices, documentation standards and structured development frameworks.
    • Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing experience and developing capability within the team.
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance product performance.

Your experience:

  • Essential
    • 5 years full product development and life cycle support.
    • Proven experience in electronic hardware design, development and validation.
    • Strong knowledge of analogue/digital circuit design, PCB design, simulation tools, and schematic capture.
    • Ability to lead development activities, plan work packages and coordinate cross functional engineering tasks.
    • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making abilities.
  • Desirable
    • Degree in Electronics / Mechatronics or qualified by experience.
    • Industry and market knowledge.
    • Knowledge of RF (GNSS and Communication), embedded systems, firmware interfaces, FPGA development.
    • Familiarity with Lean engineering, DFMEA, DFM/DFT, and product cost optimisation.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve NSV security clearance for this role.
