We are currently recruiting an IT Engineer to join our friendly team in our London office. This position is an ideal opportunity for someone who already has some experience in a similar role and is looking to build upon this experience and learn new skills to continue their career.

As an IT Engineer, you will carry out all manner of IT support duties, including first/second line support to users across the firm, including three remote sites. Regular travel to our other UK offices will be required, occasionally at short notice.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • You will play a key role in supporting users across all Forresters’ offices while helping to maintain and improve the organisation’s IT infrastructure.
  • The role involves participating in IT projects, maintaining documentation, and providing technical support across servers, networking, databases, and end-user systems.
  • Leading and supporting IT projects, including server installations, database management, and IT security initiatives.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware and software.
  • Providing technical support for users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
  • Liaising with third‑party support providers to resolve technical problems.

Essential skills required for this role:

  • Demonstrable experience working in a fast‑paced IT support environment in a professional services company.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users, colleagues, management, and third‑party providers both in person and over the phone.
  • Able to deal with queries efficiently, prioritising and logging issues, and acting accordingly.

Essential technical skills:

  • Server builds, including application software.
  • Workstation and laptop builds (Windows 11, device imaging).
  • Creating and maintaining users (e.g., Windows AD domain 2016 and above, Entra, Exchange Online, MS Office 365).

Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications.
  • COMPTIA certifications.
